Biatcha Jean Stephane

Executive Secretary of the African First Ladies Association | Synergie Africaine

Mr. BIATCHA Jean Stephane, 73 years, Executive Secretary of African Synergy against Aids and Suffering, is Technical Adviser at the Civil Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Cameroon.


As part of his training as a High School Teacher, he graduated from:

  • The Higher Teacher’s Training College( Ecole Normale Supérieure), Yaounde, Cameroon ;

  • The University of Yaounde ;

  • The Thurock Technical College, Essex, Great-Britain.


He is holder of the General Secondary Education High School Teacher’s Diploma (CAPES) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Bilingual Letters, amongst others.


Prior to his present positions, Mr. BIATCHA served as:

  • Teacher at the Government Secondary School in Ngog-Mapubi, Nyong-et-Kelle Division in the Centre Region;

  • Bureau Head for General Secondary Education Staff in the Ministry of National Education;

  • Chief of Service for the management of General Secondary Education Schools and staff, Ministry of National Education;

  • Secretary General of the Yaounde International Advanced School of Journalism (ESIJY);

  • Secretary General of the Advanced School of Mass Communication (ASMAC, ESSTIC);

  • Head of Division for Sports and Associative Activities of the University of Yaounde;

  • Attaché to the Civil Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Cameroon;

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF/CNPS), on behalf of the Presidency of the Republic.


Jean Stephane BIATCHA was also appointed Chairman of the Management Committee of the Chantal BIYA International Reference Center for Research on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care (CIRCB) and still holds the position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center.


He is also Deputy Secretary General of the Chantal BIYA Foundation, and Member of the Board of Directors of the Public Contracts Regulatory Agency.


Throughout his career, Mr. BIATCHA has been experiencing and leading numerous professional trips to several countries in Africa, Europe, America and Asia. He enjoys a very good knowledge of international relations.


On the national political scene, Mr. BIATCHA is an active member of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), a recognized elite and resource person in the Wouri 2 section (Douala) of the said political party.


He is married and father of 6 children
